Diastasis Recti is a common condition which consists of the separation of the abdominal wall due to laxity in order to allow for growth of the belly during pregnancy. This is typically characterized by a “gap” or space in the midline of the abdominal region. This can result in weak core muscles and can also contribute to pelvic dysfunction and pain.
Diastasis Recti can be addressed through education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and lifestyle modifications.
